Plug-Ins There are multitudes of 'O' ring fitting designs in use although a range of design conventions has developed around the "Plug-In" system. Widely used in sophisticated hydraulic and pneumatic systems, the "Plug- In" fitting is a simple 'O' ring head and port design with the 'O' ring head being retained to the port by a simple keep plate. The advantage of this system is its compact design allowing close mounting of multiple assemblies. This combined with multiple fitting stand off options allow tight packaging of the complete valve, manifold and hose package. As the designs have developed over the years, the number of port size options has expanded, primarily due to these fitting systems being somewhat specific to each design group.
